- Furniture Care Dust or wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and spray polishes. Use mats and coasters to protect surfaces from heat and liquids. Wipe up spills immediately. Keep furniture away from heat sources. Oiling Oil furniture every three months or as needed. Apply oil with a clean cloth, polish with sandpaper after 15 minutes, and wipe off excess oil. Do not use the furniture until the oil is fully absorbed.
