This toaster is tough too and will always work hard at breakfast time to provide enough toast for everybody. The 36mm extra wide slots allow you to accommodate bread of various thicknesses, and in conjunction with a bagel and bun feature you’ll enjoy perfect results - toasted one side while warmed on the other.

Proper toaster The reason we bought this toaster was that we sometimes make toast from sliced bread. We wanted one where the slots were deep enough for the whole slice to get toasted in one go and not have to be turned over and done again. As a result, we had the sales assistant in John Lewis measuring the depth of the slots. Only two seemed deep enough, and the Dualit was one of them. So, top priority was toasting whole slices of bread, and it performs well on that. The bonus features are that it is well made, solid, well designed with easily visible and usable buttons and it is a very bright, attractive colour. You can get sandwich toasting tools to go with it, too, which we did and they are excellent. Nice toaster. Recommended. 16 January 2013

Faulty toaster Looks great, but I've experienced several faults with this toaster (I'm now onto number 4!) The first one had a fault with the lever, the 2nd and 3rd had faults with the element that meant it short circuited after a few seconds. Expected higher quality from Dualit. 13 October 2012

Budget price (for a Dualit toaster) but also budget performance Bought to replace my previous Dualit Lite which had been an excellent toaster for three years until it stopped working. Dualit said that no spares were available nor repairs possible on that model so I should buy a new one. This replacement is essentially the same but the John Lewis guarantee makes it viable. This time, however the toast is burnt on one side before it is cooked on the other. Is that a fault? Certainly not what I had expected. 27 July 2012
