  • About John Lewis at home, Chester

Chester was the 5th John Lewis ‘at home’ shop to open, and the first in the north west. It opened its doors in October 2011. At just 38,000 square foot it still packs in a regular assortment of homewares and electrical goods, along with some popular services seen in our larger shops, namely a made-to-measure furnishings service, a wedding Gift List and a ‘rug wall’.

Can’t wait for delivery? Why not try our FREE Click & collect service?

You simply place your online order by 8pm today, and we'll deliver it to your chosen shop for you to collect after 2pm tomorrow. This service is available from all John Lewis shops, and in an increasing number of selected Waitrose branches.

The service is available for most but not all of the items we sell, so please check individual product pages when you place an order. We're unable to accept orders that include items for collection from one of our shops as well as items for delivery, so in these cases, please place two separate orders – one for collection and one for delivery.

Supporting our communities

Our aims

We're proud of the close links we forge between our Partners and local schools, charities and organisations. And wherever we do business, at home or abroad, we work with communities to make a difference. That's why:

  • Our Community Matters programme in our shops continues to support local charities and community groups
  • We aim to give at least 1% of pre-tax profits to community initiatives
  • We will continue to seek out projects that make a positive lasting impact and reach as many local people as possible

If you’d like to nominate a good cause for Community Matters please complete the nomination form and take it to the Customer Services department.

The charities we’re supporting from August 2014 – October 2014 are:

- Barnardo's

- Hope House Children's Hospice

- Marie Curie Cancer Care

Community news

Community Matters donation

Our Branch Operations Partner, Laura Martin, visited the local hospital to donate a Community Matters cheque to the Babygrow Appeal which has been set up to raise money for a new Neonatal Unit.

The appeal is well known in the city and our customers took the opportunity to vote for it through the Community Matters scheme, raising just under £900 for the cause.
