John Lewis Loribaft Gabbeh Rug, Natural, L280 x W200cm

These beautiful carpets were traditionally hand knotted by nomads from the Qashgai and Luri tribes of south west Iran. The carpets are well known for their primitive and naive patterns, some with more modern designs.

The nomads drew their inspiration from their surroundings, which provided unique and exciting carpets. They are similar to Gabbeh carpets but are more tightly knotted with a shorter pile that makes them much finer than Gabbehs. The wool is hand- spun Sardinian to give the rug and extra lustre, naturally dyed and off a very fine quality which provides durable carpets that last.
