The Prism fabric is designed to do several things. The hexagonal grid pattern helps trap air, which insulates the body. This same feature also creates low bulk, meaning it will layer effectively over a base layer and under a jacket. It can also be worn next to the skin if preferred. The fabric moves moisture really effectively due to different-sized yarn filaments on the outside and inside of the fabric, known as the denier gradient.
