Nigella Lawson Bread Bin Beech / Cream
The first bread bin we got through was so warped it was unusable. The whole base was skewed and didn't even stand level, therefore the lid didn't fit. I am not sure how it ever passed quality control! The replacement is better but still not marvellous. The finish on the lid is patchy and when it is not a cheap item, one would expect a proper finish. That said, the size is good but the quality definitely needs to be reviewed. I am glad I purchased it when it was discounted, and didn't pay the full price.

I bought my mum one of these for Christmas many years ago and it remained of the highest quality so I purchased one for myself. Really good size compared to previous bread bins I've had which means I can store a range of loaves. Very happy with my purchase.

Design problem with lid
As some other reviewers have found, the lid warped and became unusable.
We took it back and were given a replacement lid and advised to keep out of sunlight and heat - tricky in a kitchen. The bread bin is now in the most shady corner of the kitchen where the new lid has warped but not as badly so remains just about useable.
I would not recommend to anyone unless they have a temperature and humidity controlled kitchen.

Lovely looking - shame the lid is useless
We were given this bread bin for christmas and were very pleased with it. However within a month the wooden lid has warped and no longer fits snugly on top of the bin. Instead it wobbles around and does not keep the bread fresh. We rinsed the lid once, it hasn't been in a dishwasher, in fact we have usually brushed crumbs off it. I feel very disappointed and as I did not purchase it personally, there doesn't seem to be much I can do.

Lid warped after 6 months
My 2nd attempt at submitting a negative review for this - my last one was 'rejected'?! As the title says, the lid warped after 6 months and started to split after a year. It no longer sits properly on top of the bread bin. It has never been in the dishwasher or even washed - just wiped clean. I am being sent a new lid. I've been advised to keep the new lid out of direct sunlight and away from a direct heat source - not that easy in a small kitchen! I am not impressed with this considering the cost of the bread bin. I understand it is not an isolated incident.

Substantial and well-built
This was a much-appreciated present for someone with a large family. Take a note of the measurements, because it's pretty big. Large enough for 2 large loaves at least, it is a sensible shape and the wooden lid doubles as a breadboard, thus saving some space. Recommended, but make sure you've got room for it.

Bought this for the parents in their kitchen and is perfect - the use the lid as the chopping board so frees up extra space. it is fairly large so would be too big for the smaller kitchen but looks very smart

This bread bin is superb. It is large enough to take two loaves with ease. The lid turning over to make for a cutting board is really neat. Love it
