This Shepherd Hut is made in Norfolk from high-quality PEFC-certified northern Scandinavian redwood and the exterior is finished in a choice of five paint colours to complement your garden: Shale, Sage, Flint, Willow or Cream. The paint is microporous, which protects the timber throughout the seasons.

Preparing a base for your Shepherd Hut
Although all Crane buildings have timber floors, you need to have a ready, prepared base that has been laid by a professional before you take delivery. The base must be constructed of either paving slabs laid on mortar or a concrete base no less than 10cm thick. It is also recommended that your base is the exact size given in the base plans supplied by Crane Garden Buildings. It is necessary to stress the importance of having a solid, level concrete base for your building, as it is crucial to support its structure. Crane are unable to install the building if the base is not level (when tested with a spirit level).
All buildings, irrespective of style, also require clearance around the structure to aid installation, maintenance, redecoration and air circulation, as well as to allow space for the roof overhangs. Therefore, Crane require at least 30cm around all sides of your building. The base can be made in two ways: a solid concrete large pad or five smaller concrete pads, one for each wheel and one for the step.
