Designed by Alessandro Mendini, the Anna G is a tribute to a real woman. Translated to corkscrew form, simply twist her head to raise her arms and then lever like any other corkscrew. Capturing Mendini's playful yet refined spirit, this Delft decoration brings a gust of foreign elegance to the famous corkscrew, reinterpreting the art of Dutch ceramics.
Mendini draws from the colours of the ancient tradition of Delftware in a totally personal manner: the charm of the decoration, noted the designer, "lies in generating evocative forms, drawing from the world of fables, childhood tales and the iconography of the agrarian memories of Dutch grandmothers."
