Benchwright was inspired by an early 20th-century worktable that belonged to one of the Pottery Barn designer's great-grandfathers. Its rustic wood frame features handcrafted details like mortice-and-tenon joinery, giving it a strength and simplicity we love.
The base is expertly crafted from forged iron, providing a strong and durable foundation, while the table top is constructed from thick planks of meticulously weathered and distressed hardwood with poplar veneers and MDF.
Benchwright is is finished in reclaimed pine by hand, using an innovative, exclusive multi-step process. This careful, exclusive technique ensures that each piece is unique. Additionally, the use of veneers results in high-quality furniture with flawless surfaces and consistent colour tones that will not be subject to cracking, maintaining its beauty for years to come. The design is further reinforced with a metal turnbuckle tabletop support rod.
Unique breadboard extensions are specifically designed to hold drop-in leaves, giving you the flexibility to easily expand the dining surface for guests. To ensure stability in any setting, the table also comes equipped with adjustable levellers to add stability on uneven floors.
Please note that the nature of planked wood means the table may have small, authentic spaces between the panels, adding to its rustic charm.
