Arc'teryx Beta SL Hybrid Men's Waterproof Gore-Tex Jacket, Black

Product description

Product code: 35459051

Mountains, hills, valleys, peaks, forests, urban commutes and the like; there's no climate this jacket won't perform in. Superlight, packable weather protection, the Beta SL is Arc'Teryx at their best: utilising specialist outerwear knowledge so you can enjoy everything nature has to offer for all 365 days of the year.

Complete Gore-Tex Protection
Updating their previous design, the 2020 iteration of the Beta SL utilizes Gore-Tex Paclite Plus technology. 'Why should I care?' we hear you ask. Well, still packed with all the breathability, windproofing, and waterproof protection its predecessor offered, Paclite Plus is more lightweight, designed to enhance next to skin comfort. Same protection, more comfort; an easy win-win in our books.

Don't think you're having to sacrifice durability either: N42p GORE-TEX with Gore C-KNIT backer technology reinforce high-wear areas under the arms, in the upper back, and the abdomen. A small detail, but when you're up against wet and snowy forecasts, it'll give you an edge on Mother Nature.

Durable Water Repellent (DWR) Finish Repels Moisture
When the rain does fall (and it will), don't worry - you'll be more prepared than most. The taffeta outer shell has been finished with a DWR treatment that helps water bead up instead of soaking in. Worn as an outer jacket in light drizzles or under your go-to waterproof; either way, you're staying dry inside and out.

Compressible & Packable Design
One thing nearly all Arc'Teryx jackets have in common? How lightweight and packable they are. Weighing just 360g, it can just pack down into a tiny parcel of stored warmth, ready to join you wherever you go. Stored inside its own pocket, or tuck it into a sleeve, a quick shake restores the original loft, time and again. Just the antidote to temperamental weather and varying conditions.

Pit Zips, Pockets & WaterTight™ Storage
The Hybrid is slightly heavier than its streamlined, "emergency use," lightweight cousin, but the extra weight adds tremendously to this jacket's usefulness. The most notable feature added is the pit zips, which make this jacket much more applicable in humid climates and for higher output aerobic activities in wet places.

You've still got two hand pockets with WaterTight™ zippers and a bottom hem that's adjustable on both sides of the jacket, but other than the riptape closure that allows you to secure gloves under or over gloves, its design features have been kept to a minimal (for all the right reasons of course).

Complete Mobility & A Slim Fit
This jacket is meant for activity, which means it is not a loose fit. You can wear light layers underneath, but if you want to wear your bigger down jacket under this hardshell, you'll need to size up. The trim fit of the Beta SL Hybrid makes it an excellent hard shell for ice climbing, ski touring, snowshoeing, curling, extreme coffee-shopping, and any other inclement weather activities. It's excellent for winter aerobic pursuits, but also ideal for summertime mountaineering because of its close-to-body fit.

Functional Hood Coverage
And what jacket would be complete without a reliable hood? Yes, it's good to note the StormHood™ is insulated, adjustable and helmet-compatible, but what we like the most is that it's been ergonomically designed to stay put in windy weather. No more fiddling about with toggles or drawstring: just pure enjoyment of nature's best.
