A 5-litre bag of beads to use as a protective base layer at the bottom of your Kadai BBQ Fire Pit. They help protect the steel bowl from direct heat, provide insulation and improve heat retention for more efficient cooking. The beads also extend the lifespan of the firebowl/firepit by reducing wear and thermal stress.

One 5L bag is intended for a single use. As a general guideline, Kadai recommend:

  • 7.5L for a 70cm firebowl
  • 10L for an 80cm firebowl

    • Good to know: For outdoor barbecue use only. Follow all manufacturer's instructions. If you reside in a smoke-controlled area, please check your appliance is DEFRA-approved before purchasing this fuel product.

    Ensure the Beads are fully cool before handling. Using the Kadai Shovel, transfer Beads into a Kadai Riddle and gently shake over a bin to sift away ash. Remove any remaining debris by hand, then return clean Beads to the bowl. Repeat until all ash is removed. We recommend cleaning every 2–3 uses, depending on fire duration and fuel type, to maintain airflow, cooking efficiency, and bead longevity.
