This exclusive piece is a celebration of imperfection, drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which treats breakage and repair as part of an object's unique history rather than something to hide. Each item is handcrafted from Saur wood and features a beautifully textured whitewash hand painted finish. The design highlights the wood's natural character, where intentional cracks are not disguised but instead showcased through the striking use of a traditional woodworking butterfly joint technique.
The butterfly joint is a skilled technique historically used to repair or join pieces of wood together. In this collection, it functions as a signature aesthetic detail, allowing the natural fissures and cracks in the Saur wood to be transformed into iconic design elements. This approach mirrors the Kintsugi philosophy, where a broken piece of pottery is repaired with gold, ultimately becoming more beautiful for its repair.
